Running a Match on Batouche Range
1. At Range Control: Signing out keys
- Sign out key #26 (Batouche range) & key #89 (RNBRA trailer).
- Sign out a red flag for range gate.
- Get a copy of Daily Range Standing Orders (DRSOs).
- No need to sign out rake, shovel, stretcher, etc. We have those in our trailer.
- Look in the DRSOs, find our event and note the line number ("serial") of the event.
- If we're the only one listed, we are Serial 1.
- Contact Range Control by calling 422-3121
- "Range Control, this is One-Foxtrot, requesting permission to go live."
- RC: "Go ahead."
- "We are Serial ___ (the number we are on the DRSO)."
- "OIC (officer in command) is ___ (your name)."
- "We will be firing ___ (calibers we are approved for on DRSO, such as 556, 762, or 338)."
- "The flags are up; the gate is closed and locked; we have our first aid and safety vehicles in place."
- RC: "One-Foxtrot, (read back details), is this correct?"
- "Yes."
- RC: "Permission to go live granted."
- "Thank you."
- Contact Range Control by calling 422-3121
- "Range Control, this is One-Foxtrot, we are range safe."
- RC: "We'll send a patrolman out to clear you."
- Have it ready when the range patrolman arrives.
- Information needed to complete the sheet includes the number of rounds fired, the number of vehicles, which firing points were used, any damage or maintenance required.
