2021 Intermaritime Team Match On Saturday August 28, the RNBRA Fullbore Section hosted the Annual Intermaritime Team Match at St-Antoine. The Intermaritime Trophy was first awarded in 1886 and is traditionally competed for by 8-man teams from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI with 7 shots on record at 300, 500 and 600m. This year PEI was unable to enter an official team, so we invited Quebec to come. The "Invitee Team" was composed of 4 competitors from Quebec and 4 from New Brunswick. It was a gorgeous day on the beautifully well-maintained St-Antoine range. The sun was shining and the wind was blowing. Ron and Ken even pulled out the old chalkboard scoreboards that Ron claimed were from the 1930s. New Brunswick performed well, winning every distance and the entire match by 24 points. Nova Scotia came in second, but tied NB in V-count in every relay. The Invitees finished a strong third, losing to NS in the second and third relays only by V-count. Not too bad considering this was the first team match for several team members. Dinner was well attended that evening at Carrabba's in downtown Moncton, where scores were announced and the trophy was presented. Top Individual Results
2021 British Team Match The British Team Match was held the following day, Sunday August 29. This traditional match is 10 shots on record at 300, 500 and 600m. While the sun felt hotter and the wind felt lighter, it was still very tricky conditions at St-Antoine. Nova Scotia started strong at 300m, dropping only 7 points - 8 points ahead of the Invitees and 11 points ahead of NB. After the 500m relay, things were heating up as we took a break for lunch. NS was now only 4 points ahead of NB. With the wind starting to blow in our faces, the teams took their time at 600m. NS finished with only 1 minute remaining. Special shout-out to shooter Perry and coach Mike on the Invitee Team who got all of Perry's 10 shots on record within the final 6 minutes, with 10 seconds to spare. Ultimately, NB won the 600m relay 3 points ahead of NS and the overall match by 1 point. Top Individual Results
Congratulations to all teams this weekend: to New Brunswick for their double-win; to Nova Scotia for making NB work hard for it, and to the Invitees for their inaugural participation. Special Thanks to all the Organizers and Volunteers:
